Target audience

The train the trainers course “Epidemiological aspects of vaccine preventable diseases” is set up to teach public health subject matter experts the principles of competency-based education, with specific examples from the domain of vaccine preventable diseases. It was developed by ECDC to support Member States in efforts to train public health professionals in vaccine preventable diseases.

The target group for the workshop should be senior epidemiologists working in surveillance and outbreak investigation of VPDs. The expectation is that the workshop will improve the capacity of the participants to become trainers in vaccinology.
