Epidemic intelligence (EI), risk assessment, preparedness and response
ECDC offers tailor-made trainings for national experts from partner countries on epidemic intelligence (EI), risk assessment, preparedness and response.
The ongoing assessments of the preparedness and response capacities in the partner countries have resulted in the development of a general training programme for 2023 that will remain responsive to the needs identified through continuous dialogue between ECDC and the partner countries.

The Mediterranean and Black Sea Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (MediPIET)
MediPIET aims to enhance health security in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea region by supporting capacity building for prevention and control of natural or man-made threats to health posed by communicable diseases through the implementation of:- A long-term regional Field Epidemiology Training Programme (FETP)
- Training of Trainers activities (ToTs)
- Annual scientific events
- Networking and capacity building activities
