Objectives /    Learning Outcomes  

Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to: 

• Understand the ECDC HIV modelling portal
• Develop the ability to use the ECDC HIV Modelling portal for HIV data management
• Utilise the ECDC HIV Modelling portal for the estimation of incidence, prevalence and number of people living with undiagnosed HIV 

Target audience  

 Epidemiologists responsible for HIV surveillance at national public health institutes.

Description  

This hands-on training will introduce the HIV Modelling Portal and lead participants through hands-on exercises to enable HIV epidemiologists and surveillance scientists to adjust their HIV surveillance data for missingness and reporting delay, and to estimate HIV incidence, prevalence and the number of people living with undiagnosed HIV.

Note: This course is not open for public enrolment. Participation is through invitation by the focal point of the respective disease programme or function areas which is guided by the framework of collaboration between ECDC and the Coordinating Competent Bodies of Member States.
